Guest of Honour: Jane Dyball, Chief Executive Officer, MPA Group of Companies

With digital music revenues now on a par with those from physical formats, this seminar will offer delegates a timely opportunity to analyse latest trends in the global music market and the implications for the economics of the UK music industry – with particular focus on the evolution of online streaming services, new payment models, bundling partnerships and the impact of high-profile new market entrants.

Following the publication of the European Commission’s action plan for reforming the EU-level copyright framework, further sessions will examine the way forward for closing the gap in the digital environment between the value that digital platforms extract from music and that which is returned to rights owners.

Planned sessions will also focus on the future priorities of Central and local government, as well as industry, in supporting the next generation of UK artists and the discoverability of new music with particular focus on the sustainability of grassroots music venues.

We are delighted that Jane Dyball, Chief Executive Officer, MPA Group of Companies has agreed to deliver a keynote address at this conference, together with Vick Bain, Chief Executive Officer, British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA); Amelle Berrabah, Artist; Paul Broadhurst, Senior Cultural Policy Officer, Music, Greater London Authority; Simon Cole, Chief Executive Officer, 7digital;John Enser, Partner and Head of Music, Olswang; Jonathan Ford, Director, Entertainment and Media Practice, PwC; Jordan Kensington, Chief Executive Officer, Invincible Group and Founder, Urban Music Awards; Kevin McManus, Creative & Digital Investment Manager, Invest Liverpool; John Mottram, Head of Policy and Public Affairs, PRS for Music; Ian Penman, Partner, New Media Law and Director, SynchTank; Paul Shulver, Head of Music Sponsorship, O2, Telefónica and Conrad Withey, Chief Executive Officer, Instrumental.
